2013 SHOWING at the CROSS RIVER HERITAGE CENTER

I’ll be showing some of my photos at the CROSS RIVER HERITAGE CENTER gallery for the month of September 2013 and continuing into October until the gallery closes for the season.  Several of the photos below will be on display.

The Cross River Heritage Center is located in Schroeder Minnesota at mile marker 79 on Highway 61.

FALL COLORS FROM THE DECK

Autumn 2012 brought vivid colors to the North Shore of Lake Superior.  While the peak colors lasted only 2-3 days, it was a spectacular display.

Split Rock Lighthouse stands tall against the advancing fog from Lake Superior.

 FOGGY, FOGGY LIGHT

The thick fog, which is typical of Lake Superior, was already beginning to hide the lighthouse from view as I set up to take this photo.   Such chilling fog can roll in quickly on the big lake and is one of the reasons the lighthouse was established.

This photo is also on display at the Cross River Heritage Center Gallery during September, 2012.

MY PHOTOS  ARE ON DISPLAY

A collection of my Photographs will be exhibited at the Cross River Heritage Center Gallery in Schroeder MN during the Month of September, 2012.   The two photographs below are included in the collection along with several others that have not been exhibited in public before.

If you come to the North Shore in September, please stop in to see them

The Cross River Heritage Center maintains its gallery and several historic exhibits in a recently restored Tudor style building originally built in 1929.   It is located in Schroeder MN at mile marker 79 on Minnesota Highway 61.

COUNTRY ROAD

The hills high above Lake Superior always attract the tourists as the foliage puts its Fall colors on display.   The Autumn of 2011 was the most spectacular in many years.   We were treated to brilliant colors which came upon us quickly and, just as quickly, the winds came to blow them away.   My camera captured this view along the Cramer road, not far from Schroeder, along the North Shore.

AFTER THE RAINS

After The Rains

AFTER THE RAINS

The Cascade River offers spectacular views after a heavy rainfall.   In June 2012 the Minnesota Arrowhead was deluged with record rains, washing out roads and bridges and severely damaging the infrastructure in Duluth.   The rains thundered through the cascades as we have seldom seen, delighting those who hiked along the river to see them and providing me with a SIGNATURE photograph!
